Job Description: 

PMI is searching for self-motivated individuals who have a great work ethic, can work well with little supervision, and maintain a fast-paced environment leading multiple projects simultaneously and delivering high-quality products and services.  This is a traveling position with expected travel time exceeding 90%. This is also a working position providing direct, hands-on support for field technicians reporting to you. The Field Manager is our on-site lead management representative for PMI and must interact professionally with our customers, public utility representatives, and PMI field installers from both organized and non-organized sources. The field manager reports to one or more PMI Project Managers and may be required to oversee operations on multiple projects.  

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing removal and replacement of existing meters by field technicians at account premises throughout the management location.

  • Verifying on a daily basis, all field data has been collected, validated, and uploaded using an app on a handheld device.

  • Ensuring all work orders, any appointments, any repairs, or any revisits have been completed on a daily basis. 

  • Maintaining all field operations in a manner consistent with the project Scope of Work, local requirements, state requirements, and respective of any safety requirements. 

  • Treating all coworkers, utility clients and their customers, and their property with respect.

  • Verifying daily the provided vehicle and all technician vehicles are in safe working order, properly tagged, and have current registration and insurance certificate in each respective vehicle. 

  • Keeping all assigned vehicles clean and in good working order and having them regularly served, as needed.

  • Conducting hiring and firing of field technicians that cannot complete their assigned work in a proficient manner, or have failed to work in a safe and cooperative manner.

  • Advising the respective Project Manager of any aspects of the assigned project that may need review or attention or is having an impact on productivity. 

  • Overseeing site facilities, staging areas, auxiliary equipment, tools, or inventory assigned to PMI for field installation.

  • Immediately reporting any accidents or injuries that occur at the site and file any needed police reports or action reports as directed.

Requirements:

  • Possess High School diploma, GED, or have equivalent work experience

  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors - in all types of weather

  • Possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record for the last 5 years

  • Dependable, detail oriented, have good verbal skill, and a neat/clean appearance

  • Have the ability to use assigned tools properly and work within safety guidelines

  • Comfortable interacting with customers and being quality oriented

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

  • Able to handle a physical job (lifting, twisting and pulling)

Details:

Knowledge of meter installation work is strongly preferred but training can be provided for the right candidate.  Strong degree of fluency with computers, cell phones, and electronic records tablets is also required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically, Word and Excel. PMI provides a work vehicle, fuel, and all tools needed to perform the assigned work and manage multiple field technicians. You will be required to dispatch technicians to their assigned remote work locations, provide direct field support for breakages or repairs, and ensure all collected data has been uploaded from each assigned technician at the end of each work day.  

This is a salaried position but does get adjusted for various work assignments. pay is bi-weekly.  Company benefits included health insurance, dental insurance, and a 401K plan; all these require some measure of employment before becoming eligible. All work-related expenses are paid by the PMI.  Work days are variable and Saturday, Sunday, or off-hours work may be required at times, but these are the exceptions. Most work is typically Monday through Friday.
