Professional Meters, Inc. (PMI) is a nationwide meter installation company with a professional work environment, looking for electric meter installers for our current projects in Utah!

PMI is searching for self-motivated individuals who have a great work ethic, can work well with little supervision, and maintain a rigorous work schedule in a timely fashion based on clearly outlined daily tasks and duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Removing the existing electric meter at targeted accounts and installing a new meter.

  • Collecting and validating installation data using an app on a handheld device.

  • Treating all customers, coworkers and properties with courtesy and respect.

  • Keeping your assigned vehicle clean and in good working order.

  • Ensuring safety and security of all tools and equipment assigned to you

  • Arriving at assigned remote work locations to pick up your company vehicle to perform your daily work assignments in a timely manner.

 
 

Requirements:

  • Possess High School diploma, GED, or have equivalent work experience

  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors - in all types of weather

  • Possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record for the last 5 years

  • Dependable, detail oriented, have good verbal skill, and a neat/clean appearance

  • Have the ability to use assigned tools properly and work within safety guidelines

  • Comfortable interacting with customers and being quality oriented

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

  • Able to handle a physical job (lifting, twisting and pulling)

Though knowledge of basic electricity is helpful, we provide all training including: Basic electrical training and operation of field equipment. PMI not only provides training, but also provides a work vehicle, fuel, PPE and all tools needed to perform the assigned work. Being provided training to be an Electric Meter Installer will provide great skills for a future long-term career in infrastructure. 

This position is paid weekly, starting pay is hourly, and after 2-3 weeks you may be moved up to piece rate work (paid per meter installed). Work may require occasional Saturday work, typically only one Saturday a month. With clear tasks and huge potential for income based on a piece rate work can determine your income based on how many you install after a minimum quota.
